Jefferson County Courthouse

Prior to designing this Greek Revival public building, the Kentucky-born architect had used this style on the state capitol building in Frankfort, Kentucky. An expensive building, it was known as "Guthrie's Folly," because James Guthrie, the prime supporter, hoped that the state capitol would be moved from Frankfort to Louisville.
