Composite

Composite order: One of the five classical orders. A Roman elaboration of the Corinthian order:
  • Acanthus leaves on a capital
  • Combined with the large volutes of the Ionic order
  • With an echinus with egg-and-dart ornamentation between the volutes. This third element is the difference between Corinthian and Composite
