The steel foundations in place prior
to constructions of the concrete foundations
for the interpretative wall


Drainage below the wall across the site.
The gabions are zinc and PVC coated baskets filled
with river stones. The frenches are first lined with a geotextile fabric.Together they allow drainage of wate but provide stability
for the fluvial soil.

Waterproofing and drainage behind the wall. The road will be covered with cobblestones and kerbe-side drainage installed.


The shore line at the commemorative site
following removial of the 4-5 metre cliff and during installation of the gabions to prevent erosion.



The gabions are filled with river stones trucked
200km to the site. The wooden frame shows the
finished stone wall surface.
