Nikola Tesla
(1856-1943) was an electrical engineer born in Yugoslavia. He developed the first alternating current induction motor after becoming a U.S. citizen. The Niagara Falls Power Company was the first to adopt his invention in the exploitation of hydro power, proving the universal adaptability of alternating current.
