A crow on a branch with a pilfered slice of cheese Was addressed by a fox in words like these: "Why, hullo ! You're looking gorgeous this morning, Mr.Crow. In fact you'd be the paragon of all birds, A veritable Romeo, Were it not for one thing - We're not sure you can sing." At these words The crow, beside himself with pleasure, Opened his mouth to sing, and dropped his treasure, Which the fox snapped up in a trice, Too late the crow regretted his lost slice." |
