Callery, Simon (1960 - )

Simon Callery was born in London and trained at Cardiff College of Art, graduating in 1983. Callery did not exhibit until 1989 when he took part in the Whitechapel Open. Callery paints abstract cityscapes with a blurring of detail that presents them as more conceptual images of the fabric of the city rather than as still-life observations from real life. He has exhibited in major Young British Art exhibitions.
