| An Amsterdam painter of Italianate landscape and Bambocciate; he visited France and Italy 1642-50. He often painted figures in landscapes by others. The Dulwich Gallery, London has a good example of him imitating Jan-Baptist Weenix, and the National Gallery, London has one in the manner of Wouwermans. |
