painter, active mainly in Strasbourg. He, like Louise Moillon, combined
a Netherlandish tradition and technique with French classicism. He worked
in Paris from 1621, returned to Strasbourg in 1641, but had been in Venice
in 1629 and met Sandrart, whom he already knew. |
