Hosho, Kyushu, Japan

Hosho is a volcanic dome associated with the Kuju group of stratovolcanoes. The only confirmed eruption of these stratovolcanoes was in 1675. Little is known about that eruption. On October 12, 1995, Hosho erupted small volumes of ash and steam. People are being kept away from the volcano and it is being monitored for changes in activity.
