| Tensor fasciae latae (hip, leg pain): Tensor fasciae latae originates
on the outer aspect of the ilium and inserts on the iliotibial band
or tract, a band of connective and contractile tissue extending down
the outside of the thigh. Its principal functions are stabilization
of the hip and knee joints, and
assistance in abduction of the hip. Its trigger points typically refer
into the hip and leg.
