Stereo microscopes are sometimes called inspection, dissection or low power microscopes.  They are used to look at relatively large things (one half to 5 mm long).  Because each eyepiece has it's own objective lens, you will see the object in 3-D or "stereo".  All but the first microscope below will do this.
