1936 Berlin, Germany


Berlin 19361936 was a very hard year for humanity. It is the year Hitler invaded the Rhine Mussolini invaded Ethiopia and Franco began the civil war in Spain.

The Swastika and the Nazis characterized the Olympic games of Berlin. These games would attempt to highlight the supremacy of the Arian race. Little did the Germans know that Jesse Owens would be the one to force Hitler to disappear from the VIP booths of the stadium when he won 4 gold medals.

Halazi Oliver was the remarkable water polo athlete from Hungary that despite his one leg was present to win his third consecutive gold medal in the Olympics.

The Japanese athlete Hinteko Machata surprised everyone when she read a small prayer on a piece of paper just before the 200m race and then swallowed and proceeded to win the race.

The American Marjory Gestring was the youngest ever Olympian at the age of 13 years and 268 days. She won the gold medal in the trampoline event.
