Atlanta 1996
Even though the Americans guaranteed that the Atlanta Games would have been the Olympics of the century, the organizers never completed the task as such. Many of the things promised by the organizing committee, such as an Olympic Village remained a promise since the Americans presented the student dorms of the University as the Olympic Village. The computers did not live up to the high expectations, especially in terms of transportation and logistics. The bomb that went off in Olympic park resulted in the death of one woman and the injury of 110 people.

Overall the organization was a disappointment and it caused nearly everyone to complain. The only thing that the Americans succeeded in doing was filling up every seat at all the stadiums. The performances of the athletes were distinctive. The commencement was mediocre apart from the fact that the sacred torch was given to the legendary Mohhamed Ali to light. The star of the Games was none other than Michael Johnson. A characteristic moment in the Games was at the warm up for the 200m were all the contestants still remember the focus and determination in Michael Johnson’s face. He won the gold and a world record with 19.32.
