Born at Rachana - Lebanon 1924. He worked with stones since his childhood and he learned the basics of sculpture from his elder brother Michel. He started sculpture works in 1958. He works with stones, wood and metal. In 1960 he received a scholarship from the French Government in Paris and became Collamarini's student at "L'Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts". In 1994 Alfred basbous organizes the first International Forum Of Sculpture at Rachana. Since then, The Forum became an annual international Art event. This exhibition was organized by The National Council for Tourism-Lebanon. 1971 Exhibition of works for The Basbous Brothers at Souk Tawilé - Beirut. 1973 The Monumental works of Michel, Alfred and Joseph Basbous at Starco Centre - Beirut. 1974 At "UENO" Museum : Royal Museum in Tokyo - Japan.The Basbous Brothers exposed fifty of their works. 1974 Many works exposed at The Scout City at Smar Jbeil - Lebanon. 1974 Exhibition of works for The Basbous Brothers in the Caves of Cheick Pierre Gemayel in Bikfaya - Lebanon. 1974 He received The Biennal Price of Alexandria. 1977 The works of The Basbous Brothers in The Gardens of "Le Réveil" Newspaper. 1980 The works of The Basbous brothers in The rooms of "Elcir" Mekalles - Lebanon. Collections : The works of Alfred Basbous are in private collectionsi n France, England, Switzerland, Germany, United States Japan, Kowait and Lebanon. Some of his works remains at the Ashmulian Musuem in Oxford, and at the Nicolas Sursock Musuem in Beirut. Many
of his works are also in The Lebanese Tourism Office in Paris. "Faubourg
