Wood Sculpture or Guan Yin in Protective Pose. Late Ming Dynasty, China, circa 1700.



Stone Entry Panel with Fu Dog and Decorative Elements on one side. One of a nearly matching pair of stone panels that would have been placed at the entry way to a important court officials house. The stone panels are rooted to the earth and "ground" the house. Height: approx. 4 feet.
Ming Dynasty, China, 14th-16th century.

# 1065 Stone Sitting Figure ("Mahakala" or Northern God). This carving has a niche in the back to hold blessings. At the base of the figure is a snake and a second animal that appears to be a turtle. The surface of the stone has much of the original pigment intact. Yuan Dynasty (1279 - 1368 a.d.). Qinghai Province, China.
