A piece of ribbon embellished with silk and linen; the background is of striped linen. (Fatimid period, second half of the 11th century ). White Kuffic letters, vague and flowered are inscribed upon the ribbon. This piece dates back to Al-Aziz or Al-Hakim Bi Amr Allah. It is comprised from some cords of fabrics spun in Fayoum. This fabric prevailed in Egypt during that period
