A woolen - linen piece of a carpet dating back to the 9th. century. It is of vivid interwined colours and geometric figures reminiscent of folkloric Coptic art. Such a carpet may be used as a bedspread, a carpenting piece or a curtain. It was made at a workroom at Akhmim and Ashmoun districts in Upper Egypt. |
