A strong electrolyte is an ionic substance that dissolves to a large extent in water. For example, the reaction
NaCl(s) -> Na+(aq) + Cl-(aq)
goes substantially to the right. (In other words, Ksp is a large number) The name refers to the fact that aqueous solutions of substance conduct electricity well.
