A thermoplastic polymer is one which melts or flows when heated, unlike thermoset polymers. Thermoplastic polymers are usually not highly crosslinked, and act much like molecular solids: low melting and boiling points, low strength, ductile and the like. Examples include polyethylene and polypropylene.
