Females are slightly smaller than the males. Environment:Black-footed ferrets are found in the prairies of North America.Food:Its main food source are prairie dogs. Though they do eat small mammals such as mice, and will also eat eggs, fish and insects.Problem:Due to the drastically reduced number of prairie dogs, its main food source, the black-footed ferret has become an endangered species.Solution:The black-footed ferret is now protected by law. And its survival depends on ongoing conservation. |
